Avelina Quiong Carranza OBITUARY

Avelina Quiong Carranza, 81, passed away abroad June 30, 2024 while doing what she loves best, traveling.

She was born in the Philippines to the late Jose Ka Quiong and Felicidad Fortuno.

After marrying the love of her life Roger, she traveled to the U.S. where she became an American Citizen & started a new life as a Navy wife.

She was a parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.

She belonged to the Schoenstatt prayer group where you can find her visiting & praying for patients at The Marion Manor Nursing Home.

She was a member of the Olongapo City Assoc. of Tidewater.

She loved to spend time entertaining family & friends, traveling to exotic places, learning about their culture, food, & best of all shopping.

She is preceded in death by her husband Roger, son Charles, & brother Dante.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Miriam Kose, Mary Jane Carranza Toth,

grand children Nicole, Zane, Bethel, Colby, Dylan, Tabitha, Brody, many nieces, nephews, &

siblings Rosalie, Edna, Lina, Fe, Leleng & Ed.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00pm, Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home 601. N Witchduck Rd, Va Beach. Prayer of the rosary will begin 4:30pm with a wake service to begin at 5:00pm. Aloha Crisp or Pink Attire

A funeral mass will be held Monday, August 5, 2024 at 12:30pm (rosary to begin at 12:00pm) at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church with burial to follow. You may offer condolences at www.kellamfuneralhome.com.
