What will Democrats do?
This letter is in response to Zan Cartwright’s letter in the June 26 edition of the Gazette. Zan tells us that a president shouldn’t be careless, and I agree. However, after the Thursday night debacle attributed to President Joe Biden, I would say Zan was speaking about Joe rather than Donald. The Democratic Party has shown the electorate that they are much more careless in who they pick as their candidates. Joe Biden, the professional politician, has been described by past Secretary of Defense Robert Gates as someone who has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades. Yet, the Democratic Party nominated him and he won due more to COVID-19 and dislike of Trump than Biden’s ability to handle the presidency. This is true carelessness. Now with the inability of Joe to be presidential or a leader, the Democratic Party is trying to figure out what they should do. Replace Joe or try and convince the electorate that they did not see what they saw. How about Kamala Harris? What could possibly go wrong with her leading the ticket? I look forward to the entertainment afforded to us as to what solution the Democrats will arrive at.
