Police in Newport News are investigating a shooting that left a 22-year-old man dead Sunday night.
According to a release from the department, police responded to the area of the 500 block of Oscar Loop, near Kingstowne Apartments, just after 12:15 a.m.
Once they arrived, officers found two men with gunshot wounds. Initially, police said emergency services believed their injuries were not life-threatening, but one of the men, Micah L. Grant, of Newport News, later died at the hospital.
Police have not released any other information, such as the condition of the other man or any information about a potential suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
