A kindergarten teacher at Yorktown Elementary School was arrested after a report she assaulted a student, according to the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office.

An investigation revealed there were two different incidents; one on March 21 and the other on March 24. Both incidents were reported to the sheriff’s office and York County School Division on March 24.

York County resident Stacy Ames, 53, was arrested on two counts of simple assault, according to the sheriff’s office.
