Emporia Commons, a 35,013-square-foot retail center shadow-anchored by a Walmart Supercenter at 301 Market Drive in Emporia, sold for $1.9 million. The center is 58% leased with 15 national, regional and local tenants. Taylor and Eric Abbott, investment specialists in Marcus & Millichap’s Atlanta office, had the exclusive listing to market the property on behalf of the seller, a Tennessee-based developer. Brian Hosey, Broker of Record in Virginia, assisted in closing the transaction.

Chesapeake Development Holdings LLC purchased a property at 1101 Battlefield Blvd. in Chesapeake. Shannon Stidham represented the buyer.

The Harrison Group

The Harrison Group acquired the Holiday Inn & Suites Virginia Beach-North Beach, an Oceanfront resort on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. The hotel boasts 238 Oceanfront rooms and suites, each with a private balcony or patio. Resort-style amenities, include four pools, a lazy river, hot tub and complimentary family-friendly movies in the 48-seat theater. Three on-site restaurants, The Greenery, The Square Whale and the Isle of Capri, each serves seafood and Italian cuisine with ocean views. This marks the third hotel for the Harrison Group in the market.
